There are no flights direct from NZ to western Siberia. He must have gone via somewhere, probably on a Tiki Tour [a bunch of stopovers on the way] through China. Train up from Hong Kong? That's a traditional Kiwi thing to do. Then rail across Russia to Moscow etc. I suppose we'll get all the details pretty soon. On small numbers, we are already up to a 25% death rate in 2004 [hardly good statistics though, with only 4 cases] Now the bird flu thing is busting out too. Mqurice
