That's the point.. THERE IS partisanship and thus nothing gets accomplished... (ironicaly, in the last few years this has actually been a good thing because there has been a rash of extremists from both sides)

The point of multiple parties is that the net effect (as the example I gave you about Mexico) is that the competition becomes diluted, hence the one that manages to be in power just toys with the little minnows.

The other side of the partisanship coin is that once in a great while politicians manage to come up with good ideas.... BUT if it happens to be in some form opposite to partisanship views.. then they kill those good ideas, regardless of how good they may be.

The ideal world would be where ideas are chosen becasue they work... one way to get that would be the "line item veto" where the presidente can throw out specific items in a bill (that was probably thrown in there as pork fat for a specific district --or whatever--). In stead... The presidente is faced with: he takes ALL or NOTHING...

What a DUMB way to get things done... very frustrating... I have no idea how politicians can exist... If I were a politician... I would be in jail, as most probably I would have killed one of them morons already... particularly the outrageous liars -ggg
