Amy,

re: I think Intel needs to get a female executive from any of the consumer markets onto their Board

Like Jill Barad?

Jill Barad, the woman who turned Barbie into a $1.7 billion business, resigned as chairwoman and CEO of Mattel Inc. Thursday following a string of disappointing quarters.

Barad's resignation came after Mattel's board met in New York to discuss the latest dismal quarter, in which the toymaker lost $18.4 million. Things have gone steadily downhill for Mattel since its $3.5 billion acquisition of The Learning Co. went sour last year.

On another note, there's a little buzz around Intel's TV screen (forgot what it's called - lcos? rhymes with lowcost.) It's interesting that the people interested in them seem to be parents with children. Reminds me of the color printer story, to a small extent.

I ran the "liquid crystal on silicon" by some guys who install high-end video equipment. Their reaction? Nothing new. No excitement on their part.

Amy, re: "I think Intel needs to get a female executive from any of the consumer markets onto their Board."

Get off your feminist soap box will you, and try to stay on topic. You need to quit treating this forum as if it's your personal diary or blog. Lighten up on the keyboard a little will you and stick more to Intel and less on the plight of the poor women of the world.
