I was really disappointed with the televised debates.

Each candidate is asked a question and given a ridiculously short time to answer it. Almost invariably, the candidate completely ignores the question asked, and uses the opportunity to deliver a sound-bite on something altogether different.

" Part of that is this wretched primary process that reduces everyone to a gibbering idiot for a couple of years, candidates and media alike "

Yes it is always interesting and sad when you consider how much damage is done to the candidates themselves as they fight each other, providing so much ammo for the opposition in later months. Then a few months from now two of these so called enemies try to forget their distaste for each others policies and become partners trying to defeat the other party who they provided so many sound bites for future use.

Best Example, G.Bush's Voodoo economics comments about Reagan then he became Reagan's V.P.
