Chomsky probably knows his gullible poorly educated readers will likely not know or remember that SK and the Philippines both made transitions to democracy during Reagan's administration. Lie by omission. Just to clarify what you are saying: Reagan and Wolfowitz supported dictators, their support failed and the dictators lost power, and you are giving credit to Reagan and Wolfie for that transition to democracy? -g- Tom
