I agree Ann. Wives of candidates don't have to be a presence in their campaigns. But the political reality is that many voters would have a problem with his candidacy if she is absent and therefore becomes "mysterious". The Iowa caucuses will be interesting tonight. I hope we get some dropouts from the pack after tonight.

Mrs Dean made her appearance today. She explained that her patients depend on her daily so waited for final day to campaign with her husband. That's perfectly understandable for an MD whether male or female. GOP's Dr. Frisk is evidently not concerned about his patients, since he is in Iowa today & Wash DC just about every other day.

Sen. Frist noted when he became majority leader that he gave up doing surgery on tiny baby hearts to become a senator (presumably because he thought he could do more good), so this sounds like another of your slurs. Do you mean to imply that Gov. Dr. Dean also was or is "not concerned about his patients" since he is in Iowa today and just about every day?

Fairly impressive speech by Edwards tonight. He's come a long way. Cohesive statement of policies and goals. In one Iowa speech that was better than anything than Bush has uttered over many years. I wish he hadn't been a trial lawyer but nobody's perfect >>>GGG
