They used to have GOOD beer! Excellent! But that was 30 years ago.

I have first hand evidence to the contrary... when it comes to food and drink, forgive me but the Brits have absolutely no clue... they are lost in space...

The ONE exception... deserts... ah that's different... triffles.... delicious...

The drinks:

Claret <--- that's what they call the wine of Bordeaux... (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec --in although a favorite of the well to do, clearly the origin is French

Sherry <---- another 'British' drink of 'foreign' origin -lol they love it but... from: Jerez de la Frontera, San Luca de Barrameda, Spain.

Again, the exception... Single malt Scotch... and even then... it is from Scotland.... and the really good ones, are aged in barrels that were formerly used to age Sherry and Port...

So... they are lost...

In the states... any beer (from the boutique breweries) is of excellent quality... I have NO IDEA why Coors, miller and 'Bud' exist... an aberration to good taste, the stuff is disgusting

Seems like the copper has actually get to catch you speeding (use of a plane and highway markers is also legal) or the courts won't buy it.

As it should be.... besides... it becomes a revenue generator, as we have discussed earlier.... the cars today are so capable and safe, indeed there is a new BMW that has the technology to stop the ca from skidding in many circumstances (and a lot more than). This makes the laws for "speeding” ridiculous and a mere pretext to take the public for a ride...

I will say it again, I do not mind speed limits inside cities & towns; I am perfectly willing to follow those...

But the highways? Interstate and state routes? = BS...

For SOME strange reason it's legal for stoplight running though. Maybe one of our legal eagles can enlighten us.

Not much to enlighten I do not think.... you cross the line of the red light... what are you going to use as defense ? The ghost made me do it?

Whereas in speed... here is an argument that what triggered the camera.... and how fast were you going....

It is a moving thing... somebody else could have triggered the camera and happened to catch you ... in stead of the thing that triggered it.... I mean there is more of a possibility for an argument

Australian wines: Clearly you simply did not drink enough. ANY wine tastes good after you've had enough. :-)

Ah... see first rue of wine drinking... NEVER drink too much, it is merely to assist in the digestion of your meal... besides.... wine has such a relative low alcohol by volume that you would really need a LOT of wine to get yourself plastered....

Exception: fortified wines, such as Port & Sherry. Their alcohol by volume is slightly greater (16-20 %) whereas wine is only (7% to 14%) mostly around (11%-13%)

And don't forget, white Australian wines are ok, (some at least)
