It would be nice if they could refrain from saying anything that couldn't be taken back after the nomination is made.

Personally I am convinced a Kerry/Clark ticket is the best shot dems have. Two candidates who have demonstrated unusual personal courage and between them have mastered the federal government and the military.

I think either Clark or Edwards should be content with the vice-presidency, they are both relative political neophytes.

The primary process the way we do it now has all the dignity, intellectual value and public worth of a cockfight in a basement.

That's one thing parliamentary systems do much better - provide a structured opposition with experienced players and more focus on the issues as a result. And they only have to waste a month or two on general election campaigns instead of this two-year venture into gonzoland.
