Paul states to the Corinthian believers: "29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; 30 And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; 31 And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away." 1 Cor. 27:29-31 How sad that Paul was so confused that he is giving false hopes to the believers that "The Day of the Lord" is at hand. "7 So that ye come short in no gift; eagerly awaiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ: 8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Cor 1:7-8 Thirteen years before the destruction of Jerusalem, the early Christians were eagerly awaiting the return of the Lord. I assume that your statements indicate that their expectations were based upon false hopes, given to them by St. Paul. "11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light." Romans 13:11-12 Stan, you mentioned earlier that I must present historical truth and not verses to prove the Second Coming of Christ. I ask you to get the Works of Josephus, the historical record of the Jews, who was a Jewish general and historian. Of course you can always deny that Josephus was an accurate witness but his works are an excellent historical record of that time and age. Did you ever realize that most of the Apostles were Preturists? James
