the US constitution
The what? :-)

Right on!

We don't need our armed forces deployed in iraq to neutralize the problem. If we legitimately pull out all influence in that and every other country, and we still received a threat......parking lot time.

Roger. IYHO, prior to spring 2003, were those conditions met?

sorry ... i got computer... 'issues' grrrr.

ayway... where were we...

i believe that the US should definitely stop supporting all other countries/leaders (in the context which you are asking and more).

Yes, I agree 100 % and I will have you know that in similar discussions were the majority of participants --> are NOT "Americans" (from the USA)... they feather me and tar me for my views... which in these cases I am viewed as the "Yanquee Conspirator" (or whatever other label/image their own paranoia dictates) -gg

in a way for me it is almost a lose/lose situation... but luckily, i just don't give a rat's arse what others think, I just follow my own cue...

If anybody gave a damn about the US constitution, our armed services wouldn't be deployed all over the world being the neighborhood cop. We wouldn't be providing welfare to every country who does not believe in personal responsibility as a matter of policy.

* AMEN *

another 100% not much to add to that...

Of course, we will be vilified for being cold and heartless, letting monsters victimize their citizens and innocents starve (for whatever reason). But I have no problem with that. Hell, we have enough problems inside our borders.

Abslutely... and n fact i say... f* em....

the problem is... they DO intervene... AND then at times the "special interests" get in the way and it REALLY screws the situation.... BECAUSE it is the particular paranoia of the guy/party that happens to be in power that "colors" the situation....

IMO... we ought to CONCETRATE the millions spend in war toys, improving other technologies, and in particular that of fuel supply....

then we can safely say to the Arab/oil world....

go drink it Muhamed, and if it pleases, bomb the shit out of each other.

sorry.

again... once you start playing the world-cop-game...

forget it... other issues come up ... and once again.... given the record.... it is best to change policies and be more forthcoming with the people INSIDE these borders.

As it is ... the above philosophy, to which I agree for the most part, it has become a near impossibility due to the current history behind...

it has become an uphill battle to regain the position that this country (USA) should be a country of traders in commerce and industry, not bombs and world-police uniforms

oh well....

Making parking lots today is difficult since MacArthur, Truman and Reagan aren't around anymore.
