In either case, both opposites believe the end result is catastrophic. The FED and CBs prefer inflation. Will they succeed, and will they launch the greatest inflationary times in history?

Place your bets.

My bet is they keep TRYING and that prolongs the misery and ultimate collapse. The bet is further refined into saying I will admit defeat IF and ONLY IF greenspan produces jobs and wage inflation.
Right now, with Canada cutting and especially if Europe cuts I will proclaim temporary victory. That does not mean that inflationists beting on gold or silver or oil lose. I have a bet on unleaded gas for example. I am looking for a re-entry into gold and silver. It appears to me that Greenspan is going to force everyone else to lower rate, if that supports the US$ TOO much and jobs do not improve, look for a CUT from the US.

Both sides can be right here depending on exactly what they bet on. Russ and I have some of the same bets on yet we differ 1000% on interest rates.

Is it possible we could end up with $60 oil and the DOW at 5000?

I think this is where its ultimately headed.
