If Kerry wins NH and Iowa both, that pretty much locks it.
No candidate has ever won both and not been nominated.
He would have to collapse a la dean and Edwards surge to reverse that. Kery does not gaffe like Dean does so the odds of that are very slim.

Anything is possible (as we've seen) but the conventional wisdom is that while Edwards is a rising star, he's not yet experienced enough to lead the country. Edwards also has Clark to contend with in southern states. Clark has more money than Edwards and a better organization. Of course that could change. I am not writing off Edwards, just thinking logically.
