I agree with your comments on Edwards.

Regarding Clark, when he made the comment about General and Lieutenant, he indicated that he is still thinking in terms of the military. And in the WH you cannot do so once you don civilian clothes. So his mindset is not there yet and that is what disqualifies him from being on the ticket in any shape or form.

Anythng could happen on the VP front, but Kerry has said he would need a southern running mate. Edwards would seem most likely as of now, but that could change.

I completely agree...An Edwards-Kerry ticket would be powerful.
