I can't see black voters going for Dean. He has spent the last 20 years of his life in a state that is almost devoid of black people.

BROAD WEAKNESS

The durable goods report, which provides a key reading on the health of the manufacturing sector, showed a broad range of categories suffering from weaker demand.

Orders for non-defense capital goods excluding aircraft -- seen as a proxy for business spending -- fell 0.4 percent. Economists believe a sustained pickup in business spending is crucial for a long-lasting economic recovery.

Orders of computers and electronic products fell 2.7 percent and orders for fabricated metal goods fell 0.8 percent.

Again, it is unlikely there will be a broad US-based capex recovery with all this offshoring. These economists just can't connect the dots. The chinese call centers are buying capital goods, sure, but not from US companies.
