But. And this is a very big BUT. While most of us who post regularly here are right siders, those who CONTINUOUSLY bring their Bush bashing agenda should refrain from doing so. There are threads that serve that purpose elsewhere.

This isn't what the porch is about. JMHO, of course.

Murray! I agree........I do not understand their reasoning......I know that the regulars on this porch do not drag their opinions to boards of other persuasions.

I find it interesting that Scott only posted that article on the porch and the Bush Board. Perhaps he needs a better filing system......

"Yes the Iraqi War was started by the current administration "

So you, Jill & countless others don't think UN Resolution
687 is a legal document? It is, in fact, the Gulf War
Cease Fire Agreement. It clearly lays out that Saddam is
required to eliminate all offensive weapons, all of its
WMD's & all of its WMD programs. This is to be done under
international supervision.

UN Resolution 687 also required Saddam to stop all of its
crimes against humanity & to end all ties to terrorist
organizations, ET AL.

Any violation of the Cease Fire Agreement would allow the
immediate resumption of hostilities. This resolution was
to remain in effect until the UN could verify that Saddam
was in complete compliance.

The US & the UN bent over backwards for more than 12 years
while Saddam relentlessly violated UN Resolution after UN
Resolution, all stemming from Resolution 687.

Regardless of your perception of reality, this one fact
alone proves that the Bush Admin did not start the Iraqi
war. And any reasonable person has to realize there were
many other significant factors all at play here.

No doubt the way liberal media & liberal politicians have
misrepresented, distorted & outright lied, I can
understand how & why so many folks do not have the vaguest
idea what really went on.

I'm sure you all know about the latest revelation about
the documents found in Iraq showing that Saddam bribed
numerous politicians, journalists, etc., to get them to
support Saddam & work toward removing all of the sanctions
& the inspections? I have noticed that most major media
outlets have ignored it like almost every other revelation
that shows the lies & deceit from the liberal left
regarding Bush & Iraq.

Yup, perceptions & reality. Often at odds with each other
& most folks don't bother finding the difference between
the two.

Thanx Murrey.

Sometimes certain people have to be held to higher standards, and sometimes certain nations as well. When there is a lot of power and influence in your hands, you must make your decisions very carefully. I suspect a lot is being done to break up al quaeda cells and stop terrorism behind the scenes we will never know about, and I would agree spending my tax dollars on that, and I also even will give up some of my civil liberties in trade for protection, although I'd like a choice in that, a voting choice, and to be informed of that loss.

But there are many bad regimes around the world, and we can't be the world's police. If Iraq was intimately involved in potential terrorism, okay. But we could question for instance why we haven't gone after Saudi Arabia when there are good reasons to do so, probably. There are checks and balance in international politics, obviously. Anyway, I for one am glad to live in a country where someone can resign and speak his mind if he so chooses, without getting killed for the effort. And I hope Americans care enough to examine the issues. Whatever the outcome of the 2004 elections, I hope that Kerry is right, that we will have some good open debate. I want to hear all sides, without bashing, and then figure out what to do with my one vote, as each vote can make a difference. :)

Meanwhile, the markets held stronger today than I thought they would. :)
