Who knows what life-changing discovery would not have been made had SSC sucked up most of the science funding? This demonstrates the propaganda advantage spenders have over non-spenders. Spenders can point to something objective. It's hard for non-spenders to point out what was sacrificed in favor of the spenders' project.
