Very unlikely. Wal-Mart Germany isn't that much of a success story (yet). The local discounters Aldi and Lidl are much more popular and price-aggressive.

Yes, Ryanair is widely used though I have heard the occasional horror story. (One example: flight from Oslo to Frankfurt cancelled due to technical problems, no substitute machine for three days, then train to Germany.)

I may even buy some of their stock.

You get it cheap now - they dropped 30% after a profit warning last week :)
