How do you protect the soldiers by rushing into war without a post-war plan, smart intel or a decent coalition, then shaft them on health care when they get home?

The soldiers in Iraq didn't even have the needed kevlar vests until there was a public outcry. The situation is FUBAR in Iraq. Yes the troops are doing great because they are highly trained but most of the 500 deaths were unnecessary if things had been done right. The problems in Iraq are mainly policy mistakes at the top. The main reason was that Bush-Cheney were too eager to use the war during the election season then grab the oil-fields. They literally told us anything they wanted to to get us to believe we had to rush in alone. This may end up costing us thousands dead and a half a trillion dollars. Will it work? Who knows? It was so poorly planned it's all up in the air now.
