I really don't know what salary wage pressure is like, because there is so little hiring. Basically the people who I used to know working in tech who were laid off in 01 haven't been able to find work since. They are all working at starbucks or other retail. I heard Cisco was trying to hire programmers in IT for $1650/week with no benefits, that is pretty bad out here. Its a real calamity imho.

It's already happening. I posted a link to Lizzie a while back about a US software company in Boston that decided to try to hire US programmers for 5k above what they would have paid for Indian programmers. They decided that 5k a head was about the amount of hassle offshoring to India would cause them. They hired everyone they needed right in Boston with no problem in no time at all.
