You are thinking like those dot bombs that thought as long as they kept the revenue side growing they could ignore the fact that expenses were growing at a faster rate.

The budget deficit cannot be resolved on the revenue side. It must be resolved on the expense side and the only way to do that is to put on the deficit straight jacket because any increases in revenue will result in an increase in spending. You should know this considering that the biggest increases in state government spending came during the fat years in CA.

Lizze, would you prefer to be competitive to China, or not?

I'm curious, because you never say whether you want to be competitive.

If you're wondering about me, on a personal level, I want to be worldwide competitive. I believe in handling any potentially challenging competitive issues now when young, rather than having protectionism give me short-term gains for longer-term pain when in my old age. Protectionism eventually yields a non-competitive country & things go downhill.

I owe it to the people who want to retire in this country, to work hard, like they did for us while we were growing up, to be worldwide competitive, and hopefully give them a competitive country they may continue to comfortably retire inside of while I am working competitively.

If you and I don't work competitively and keep our companies competitive, what happens to the retires in the USA?

I feel strongly about this because some of my ancestors came from a country that went downhill after it turned into a Communist country. This country is turning things around now, after generations, only because they are now getting more capitalistic, competitive and open.

Protectionism is a very dangerous, downward spiral. Let's not go there.

I'd really like to know if you want to be competitive? Do you share my perspective, or in some way see my POV?

Regards,
Amy J
