Time for Deanies to make peace with Kerry and then get behind him.

One problem is I seem to be a way out in front of him. Yeah, he was opposed to the Vietnam war, and so was I. He was opposed late in the game, when it was fashionably chic. My opposition was during the Kennedy Admin, before the slaughter. He opposed the '91 Gulf war. My opposition was only to the war hysteria that accompanied the war build up, and the lack of proper planning for subsequent effects (what if we had established two no fly zones with both a Kurdish enclave in the north and a Shia one in the south. No slaughter of the Shia, and a decade to develop the necessary post Saddam cooperation.) And yes, I'm aware of the caveats he made in his speech before voting for this last war, but expecting those caveats to be honored were expecting a leopard to change its spots. It wasn't going to happen, Either he realized that, or he didn't. If he didn't, he's a fool. If he did, he's just another politician looking for a fig leaf. Don't get me wrong. I'll vote for him to oust Bush & Co. But he's not what the country needs.
