The point of the neuro fuzzy logic is that it "senses" when the rice is done by the temperature, and shuts itself off when the temperature goes up (because the water is all absorbed by the rice) instead of using a timer. You can program it to cook white rice, oatmeal, brown rice, different times for different things. If you like the old fashioned Irish oatmeal, it will cook that perfectly, too, and that stuff is not easy to cook. The heat comes from all sides, not just the bottom of the pot, so it also cooks a little faster. Chris gave it to me for Christmas. For my birthday, a mandoline - the kitchen gadget, not the instrument. It's actually very useful for, say, slicing potatoes for potatoes au gratin. And I got myself a mezzaluna with a round wooden bowl, which is nice for parsley and other herbs. So now I have a neuro fuzzy logic rice cooker, a mandoline and a mezzaluna, and am complete. I might want a Mexican mortar and pestle for guacamole, though. Completeness never lasts.
