Only if the law is consistent logical. Where did you get the idea that was the case? If it persists here, it will soon discover that it must also accept polygamy, both hetero and homo.

Are homosexuals allowed to believe in the same god you believe in?? If so, why shouldn't they be allowed to marry in their god's presence and with his/hers blessing. Why do you get special treatment? Isn't that ungodly?

"Legal rights already exist for each homosexual American on the basis of his individual humanity." >>> That wasn't the topic. >>> The topic was what legal rights exist with respect to couples. >>> There are hundreds, nay, thousands of specific rights, privileges, and specific carve-outs of legal considerations that apply to marriage --- just within Federal Government programs (such as the ability to file joint tax returns --- thus paying lower taxes than a single filer, eligibility for disaster loans, etc., etc. The list runs into the thousands.)
