KT, >>Cars will never be worth more<< yeh I had an assumed ;-) in there -g.

Of course, McMansions have been appreciating lately so why not spin cars
as the ultimate investment? It's obvious this once-in-three-generations crowd
believes anything. They're building a few houses down the road from me here
in the middle of winter (unusual for a place with -30 degree wind chills lately).
They're spreading hay over the recently poured foundation to try to warm
it up. Another one has a heater going in the basement again trying to cure the
cement. Saturday the crew was out scraping off the snow from the OSB
(oriented strand board/chip board) 4x8 roofing to try to minimize how screwed
up it's going to get while building in these conditions (before this boom they
only did inside work in the winter around here - now they're chasing the mania).
Moisture and chip-board don't mix well in these McMansions, the wood swells
and NEVER returns to manufactured size, because it's not real wood, it's chips,
saw dust & glue which don't behave like natural wood does which would shrink
back to normal. (Tip: plywood which uses veneers of real wood is a far better
material for what's typically one's biggest investment).

These are going to be AWFUL long term McInvestments quality-wise, unless
the powers that be outlaw moisture...

Re:car profit from building from parts @ 6x the cost, you couldn't tell that by
looking at FMO. Guess we won't need spark plugs anymore... think I may
take a look at them again. I like stuff that makes sense & costs pennies - you
only have pennies to lose -g.

best,
Tom
