We got married at our local church. The church ladies put on a luncheon afterwards for the food. Rented a hall and put on some half barrels later on. Wife bought her wedding dress on a close out for like 45 bucks. Total cost was under 1200. We are still married and will be 25 years in November.

Friend of mine put on this monument to his wife's ego for his baby girl. I think it likely it was over 20K. In fact I'm sure it was. Borrowed the money to keep wife and baby girl happy. Baby girl ran off with an ex boyfriend to live on a beach in LA after 13 months of bliss.

Big weddings are the biggest waste I've ever seen or heard of.

My daughters are picking up a lot of things on E Bay believe it or not. Discontinued stuff from suppliers. Oldest daughter picked up her train for like 10 bucks. Very helpful in the cost department.

The whole country is overrun with waste. I have a good friend that makes more than twice the money I do and I have as much stuff as he does and more money in my retirement account
