Tell us, what would Jesus do? I have a guess: as with Mary Magdalene, he would save them from stoning, but adjure them from sinning further. Is that realistic? It depends on your view of the tenacity of sexual orientation, which is still controversial. On the other hand, we do not live in a theocracy, and what is not controversial is that, absent a compelling social interest in the behavior, we do not legislate about matters where a religious viewpoint is crucial to the condemnation of the behavior.
