I think the marketplace can deal with this nicely. The marketplace is a great antidote to slippery slopes. The world isn't going to come to an end if a few polygamists marry. We stand to lose more as a nation over the polarization and hostility of the culture wars.

How many people want to be polygamists?

Seems to me we have a couple million Muslims in this country and several million Mormons too. I don't think it's farfetched to think that quite a few men of these religions would either like to try polygamy, or would like to have their existing polygamous marriages recognized.
