Shrub is essentially saying that the heightened state of alert after 911 is justification for invasion.

That doesn't explain why the invasion was planned a full year before 9/11.

They could have chosen #3, but they knew Americans don't really care about that. If we did, then Bush wouldn't ever have been voted into office.
