well, maybe - maybe not.

As Barney Frank correctly espoused on CNN last night, there has been a roughly 20 year period where labor has lost ground... this is the combination of the union collapse and overtaxation of labor vs. passive... the loss of benefits (related to labor) and now finally a widening wage gap. Its just gotten to the breaking point according to him... indians will never have to pay the taxation levels that US workers do with fica and income taxes, so even if their wages rise they can never rise to US levels. We've also got a **completely** unfair Yuan exchange rate and workers are a little tired of all this "tough love" that republicans don't give a sh!t about. The system is broke and cannot be fixed certainly until this congress is replaced (I am certain it will be)- Barney Frank says Cafta is stalled and no more trade agreements will go through either.

BTW my largest concern about offshoring is that US tech companies are taking IP developed at taxpayer expense at universities and other locales, and sending this stuff offshore to be developed. That is JUST WRONG and there is no free market dogma to explain it. This total ripoff of the us taxpayer, who is a working guy for the most part has to stop... I'm sure it will in November, Bush is done.
