No, i avoided servive with ed deferments and teaching in the south bronx. Sometimes i am very guilty about this and other times i think of vietnam as a hopeless war with our leadership telling us a huge lie even after 8 years when i avoided service. Who i feel bad for are the poor folks who had no way out. I think kerrys opposition after service was noble and he probably saw much of what i felt as true from his position on the ground. Thats why the sensitivity to the wmd as misinfo by the admin. I dont buy that for a sec but it was probably overhyped as a reason. mike
