Just looked at the Boston Globe op-ed page. There are two columnists, Joan Vennochi (generally liberal) and Jeff Jacoby (conservative) who wind up lambasting the same thing: Kerry's issue-straddling, have-it-all-ways politics. This is Kerry's hometown paper, remember. But then, the Globe has never liked Kerry very much.

Joan Vennochi points out that Kerry is going to have a hard time running away from his liberal voting record as his ADA rating is higher than Ted Kennedy's. That's interesting, I didn't know that. I'm sure Karl Rove is gathering data busily.

This National Guard thing is a tempest in a teapot, and badly timed at that. Why are the Democrats using it now, and not in July? I know that if I gave Bill Clinton a pass on draft-dodging, I certainly cannot be made to care if George Bush showed up for every National Guard drill on schedule 35 years ago. I suspect most Americans feel the same.
