Don't you think it's kind of weird how we expect politicians to be models of fidelity, when we generally don't care about sexual mores very much among our acquaintances and business associates? It's almost as if the politicians have to be faithful for us.

Yes, it's a travesty.

JFK's and RFK's pecaddilloes did not interfere with their ability to brilliantly handle the Cuban Missile Crisis; Jefferson's wanderings did not matter....the examples are legion. These kinds of things don't matter much except in the US.

Why? Who knows. Perhaps the French and others are correct about out lack of sophistication.

However, the question I have is this: Except for a few generally insignificant Republicans like John Tower, why is it that Dems seem to be the ones who are generally involved?

If this is politically significant, it only helps Edwards, who is an wet-behind-the-ears trial lawyer that might, just might, give Bush a run for his money.

the press isn't going to be able to help themselves,

Drudge listed several incidents. Must be something going on. The press will go nuts. But if the Lady won't confirm, and they don't have any witnesses, it will be tough to break it in the mainstream.

The key thing from the Political standpoint is that Drudge's report gives enough "cover" for the Tabloids to run with it next week. After that, here comes Edwards!

You may think this is prudish, but my husband actually told one of his electrical subs that if he didn't mend his way he wouldn't send any more work his way. The young fellow is married with a wonderful family and an excellent electrician that we've worked with for quite awhile

My husband is not a prude, but some of us do care quite a lot, and do NOT want a philanderer representing us.

PS My husband is of Scottish descent if that means anything. <gg>
