As I mentioned in a previous post I call the 3-month quarter centered on the winter solstice, the Gloom Time. And yes, I know it's much more exaggerated at your latitude. Nevertheless, that's over for both of us. This week at this latitude, we passed a milestone, and extra hour of sunlight relative to the winter solstice. That and the fact that every day this week so far, the temps have been above 70º, has got me into a planting mood. Don't want to get to far ahead of myself, so I'm starting with sugar peas. Figure a "cold snap" won't hurt them. So I've got two cake pans half filled with soaking water - one with pole peas, one with bush peas. May get a little rain this weekend. Be a good time to plant them.
