I basically agree with what you say.

But there is another possible very important difference...the draft.

As much as I hated the draft (as did most of my contemporaries) it had a lot to do with the anti-war movement.

How the younger generation and their parents respond to this folly, without the draft hanging over their heads, remains to be seen.

Many Republicans are now "anyone but Bush". They like Kerry. This terrifies the RNC. They are determined to hold onto one-party rule and use the power of the system to hoard money, power and information.

Article today about Halliburton's blatant overcharging on everything from paper clips to jets. Halliburton, Bectel and energy gints all in it togeher with the Bushies to plunder while they can and for as long as they can. Energy prices near all-time high now. Ask yourself why.
