As a student of history, I said I was not (and still am not) in the least surprised by "9/11". (Nor was Jean Chretien and others like him). By the way, there was fair warning! This does not necessarily mean that I am supportive of the Jihadists in any way. In the light of history and of human nature, I said I found their attacks quite "understandable". I did not say they were justified. Unfortunately, folks like you and others seem to be obsessed with using me as a whipping boy for the excruciating psychological pain "9/11" had inflicted on you all. And so when presumptuous/pompous/arrogant/unreasonable.... folks (and those trying or pretending to be such for whatever perverse reason) went all out to insult and rile me, I responded in kind. Shit for shit and acid for acid! I must admit I do enjoy giving back in kind and yanking the chains of those who attacked me gratuitously. On hindsight, I notice that many of these attacks stemmed from misunderstanding/misperception/ignorance/etc & etc. Oh well, it all has to do with human nature. 'Tis also true that "a man/woman convinced against his/her will is of the same opinion still." Remember that I have pointed that out to folks umpteen times. As for your accusations that I deliberately post off-topic materials to cause disruption, I should say you are once again out to lunch! On the Gold Price Monitor thread, I read suggestions that the thread was dying and one Chispas suggested to let it die. Seeing that no news germane to gold and other metals was posted in quite a while, I decided to post the piece on the Last Supper which I thought was relevant, given the current tremendous wave of interest in Mel Gibson's film, "The Passion". As it turned out, it was quite well received, especially by one Grampa, and by one Pearly Button for its history, humour and moral content. As most of us know, Judas who was present at the Last Supper reportedly betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. And mind you, silver as an investment metal is germane to the Gold Price Monitor thread discussions. I had hoped the mere mention of silver might somehow re-ignite discussion on the investment metals. ). I am sorry you failed to see the relevance of the article on cloning to GPMers. The point is that on GPM, soon after "9/11", some folks pointed out that the slow birthrate in the West, in contrast to the rapid birthrate of the enemy's, was a matter of grave concern. That got one Big Mama into fantasizing about the reproductive power of westerm wombs. That Big Mama even suggested that all Moslems, regardless of whether they are Jihadists or not, had to exterminated! But no one agreed with that crazy notion!!! I posted the article on cloning to emphasize that the situation is not as grim as it was thought to be. I suggested that cloning research may eventually help to level the playing field populationwise and all that this implies. Also, more hands make light work! More hands can mine more gold and other precious metals!!! <VBG> Don't worry too much about what I post. I am not as influential as you think.
