BAKU-TBILISI-CEYHAN PIPELINE CONSORTIUM

TigerPaw,

Re: It looks like the Bush/Cheney pipeline deal that provoked the 9/11 attack was for naught.

In the murky world of petro-politics, I have not yet been able to come to a definitive conclusion as to the role played by pipeline routes in the planning of the 9/11 attacks.

Here's some resources on the B-T-C Consortium you'll find interesting. tinyurl.com

In particular, the board of directors is a real eye-opener. Current or former board members include Zbigniew Brzezinski (he wasn't kidding when he wrote "The Grand Chessboard"), Brent Scowcroft and James Baker.

This was part of the realpolitik crowd who opposed Bush Jr. and Oil Slick Dick's adventurism in Iraq. The B-T-C pipeline prospects were greatly damaged when the neo-con sect in the GOP was able to secure the lifting capacity of Iraq, albeit they've been stymied by sabotage.
