You had to be walking across the Brooklyn Bridge see jets in the air and hoping they were ours. That was after the WTC nearly collapsed on me.
I was talking to a gal at my work. She is a from Argentina about 30 and she was passionate in talking about America and what she felt it had become under Bush. I didnt quite know how to reply. She is a lovely gal, someone i have great affection for.
What i said to paraphrase was. "Your dream about the world is still mine. I apologize for f****ing things up so badly and leaving you this mess but until this cancer that my generation ignored and let fester and grow is eliminated, there will be no peace and no ideal USA. " She didnt really buy it, but she loves me too and we are still friends. And she knows i believe this and since she respects me, she has to at least consider the alternative. Take a liberal out to lunch is what we should all do. Karen, Pick you up at noon tomorrow? Mike
