Prove me wrong.

We spend 15% of GDP on health care. Almost all the other industrialized countries spend less than 10%. At the same time our life expectancy is on the average at least a year less than the other industrialized countries, and our infant mortality 50% more.

Finally, in study after study, I read that our health care bureaucracy (primarily private health insurance bureaucracy) wastes at least twice as much as other countries.

What other proof do you need?

Americans aren't dying from lack of health care, they are dying from their own excesses. We're the fattest nation on Earth, we have the highest number of gun deaths and drug overdoses.

A nation of fat, gun-toting dopers. I knew the place was going to seed.

Don't forget the EPA.

A study by James Robinson (1995) — whose work was supported by a grant from the Office of Technology Assessment, concludes that compliance with clean air standards reduced manufacturing output by 22.35 percent from 1970 through 1990. The EPA estimates the cost of compliance came to $1.5 trillion.

BTW, there is no good evidence, aside from EPS studies, to support that compliance has had any positive effect on the health and welfare of residents of the US.
