Hans Blix and his guys would have done a fine job of inspecting whatever Saddam wanted or allowed them. And it's my impression that the scope of the inspection focued around known points (however accurate that was) sometime in 1998. So we just assumed that time-out was called for 4 years and "everything" came to a halt.

The hawks have criticized Hans Blix from day one. The truth is he did his job.....that's why there are no WMDs in Iraq today. The only reason he wasn't sure that all of the WMD were gone was because of some paperwork that Saddam had. It suggested that some WMD were unaccounted for. I have said before that I suspect Saddam wanted to maintain the illusion that he still had WMD to keep his enemies at bay.

Hans Blix found more than David Kay found
Time for the Bushies to admit they just LIED about WMD's, or else were too inept and reckless to double-check the facts. Either way the pink slip is on its way to the White House.
