Jewel you make some good points, and I don't disagree with them for the most part. But I was commenting to the E.T. line of thought that permiscuous hetero sex was as dangerous as gay sex specifically in regards to AIDS. Here is what I said:

"You do understand there is a CONSIDERABLE difference in the danger level of the two behaviors you compare, right? The frequency in the events is different I would bet too."

In my strong opinion, when AIDS is being discussed (or any subject for that matter) and a large percentage of the discussion is stamped out by "politically correct" thinking that silences the part of the argument that they don't want to hear, it hurts the process of creating working solutions. It is a tactic that is heavily employed by the left imo, and one that is particularly bothersome to me.

Now you have morphed that into a conversation about morals in general (which is fine), but misses the point I was making. Switching the subject (spinning) is another tactic of the left that is rather irritating, but I don't think you were purposely doing this. I will comment on:

"The strains of disease may be more prevalent in one group of morally corrupt verses another...so what?"

The "so what?" is that one disease kills people, and even if they were "morally corrupt" in getting it, it is a problem society should deal with. And there is also the issue of frequency that should be looked at too. The portion of the gay community where AIDS is rampant have some practices and numbers of partners that are staggering imo. There are slutty hetros with pretty bad track records in this regard, but after reading about some of the practices in portions of the gay community, I would say that it should be part of the conversation about how to deal with AIDS.

"Get with it..."

I'm not going to retract what I said (because I believe it is true). Nor will I take up argument with the points you have made here (other than the one mentioned above). I agree with you for the most part.
