Although I tend to be dismissive of the goofy conspiracy theories and theorists because of their proclivity towards the "blame game," I like part of your approach. The alternatives you mention would be recognized by the masses as good for America.

Unfortunately, no credible candidate, with the possible exception of a bit of Al Gore, has brought these issues to the public. Most, as with our current JFK, seem to want to be an anti-Bush. I don't believe this will fly. To beat an incumbent, one needs to do something dynamic unless he has a charisma (Clinton & Reagan) or character that clearly is superior. I don't see that happening with the net result being that Bush will win pretty much by default.

But your ideas about alternatives are good ones and I'd like to see real debate on them instead of goofy conpsiracy theories about who really runs the country and the world. We get what we pay for. The people do not have the time and have given up on detailed analysis. When they see a group wanting to throw out the President based on half-baked blame theories or claims that he was AWOL, the people laugh and vote for sanity.

That's why they get non-issue elections. I believe, OTOH, that we are ready for real discussions and debate. We are oversaturated with stories about AWOL or cheating on spouse. After 9/11, Americans want someone who can be a real leader and who will shape America in an unshapely world.

That would be one good reason to elect Kerry. If he would uncover what Bush has done. But he won't. Kerry is also Skull & Bones and CFR just like Bush. That's why Kerry even has a chance. He will cover Bush's back.

RockNJ,

Re: If Bush is re-elected we can pretty much kiss American democracy goodbye.

Yes, but you are forgetting the glories of Empire!

I know that this is a hot-button item with our local student population.
