John Re...I'm just offering up information. It's a long article, there are more than a few things I disagree with.

I agree, howver, for my reply to Al, I read that specific part several times, and I think my interpretation is accurate.

The thing that strikes me as most interesting is the extent that private companies now benefit from wars.

The gov. now uses all kinds of outsourcing in all areas of gov.; not just the military. The simple fact is, the army doesn't seem to have any branches of the military set up to provide the type of services Halbuton does. To say it is more costly, than if the gov., or army supplied the services themselves is nothing but speculation, and probably wrong, when you consider how inefficient the gov. usually is.

I don't like the idea that war is good business, at the expense of taxpayers

There are always certain types of companies who make more in times of war, especially the weapons manufacturers. That shouldn't come as a surprise to you.

real conservative and a great President,

LOL Ah the truth now finally comes out. You are a closet conservative, in liberal clothing. Better be quiet about it, as Ted thinks every Rep. president was/is bad, and deserves to be pilloried, no matter what.
