I can understand how Infant Mortality could be reduced if those not expected to survive past birth were aborted rather than dying in their first few months, but I think this would be rather difficult to implement.

I don't see how this could account for the low Life Expectancy in the U.S. when compared to other nations.

Infant Mortality in Cyprus is 7.5 compared with 6.8 in the U.S., yet Cyprus has a life expectancy of 77.3 as opposed to 77.1 in America.

Infant Mortality in Australia is 4.8 compared with 6.8 in the U.S., yet Australia has a life expectancy of 80.1 as opposed to 77.1 in America. I don't know that life is terribly different in Australia, other than the fact that their health care is better.

I still don't see the connection in either case with abortion.
