Then how come Hanoi john is so afraid to debate Edwards? That's okay, I don't expect a response, the obvious reason he won't debate is because Hanoi john is trapped... he took the lead only because dean imploded...

Yes the GOP wants Edwards to make Kerry spend money and split the Democratic vote. Also the press wants a race because that gives them a story. Kerry doing a victory lap is not a story. Some say Edwards is a good thing for Kerry, but it's also a good thing for the GOP, unless they end up shaking hand and teaming up. The fact is Kerry-Edwards may be the ticket, so don't put too much importance in this "two man race". Also, look at the math. Edwards would have to perform a miracle to beat Kerry now. I just doin't see that happening. Kerry beats Edwards soundly on military and foreign experience, exactly the attributes needed to beat Bush.

>>Kerry is someone that the White House dreads.<<

False...the White House fervently hopes Kerry will be Dem nominee. Simply because Kerry is the typical New England liberal Democrat that they've beaten so many times in the past. Moderate Repubs won't vote for him...his foreign policy tendencies are much too liberal. I really like Susan Estrich, but as a long-time Dem party operative, she's just promoting the person that has looked to her like the frontrunner until now. It will be interesting to see Susan's loyalty suddenly switch to Edwards. She has a great sense of humor so will probably use it when she becomes a born again Edwards fan.
