You know, I woke up this morning thinking about this very subject. I planned to frame a post on it but decided to read the thread first. What made me think about it was the Krauthammer speech and the response to it that you posted, the one that formulated another ism, one that I didn't find particularly apt. I think that neoisolationism, and that's the word I was going to use, is a legitimate ism and should be aired as an alternative. By neoisolationism I mean global capitalism, cultural minding of our own business, and military restraint. My isolationism differs from Buchanan's primarily in that mine is not populist.
