hehe. Yeah really. Ironically, one of my kids was just talking about this a few days ago at dinner. I think the first VCR was invented in the mid fifties, with them commonly hitting the market in the late sixties early seventies. (I think)

But is the argument that since the footage is on VCR it can't be authentic? If I had the footage on 8mm (which was very common prior to the 60's), I would certainly have transferred it to VCR by now.

Of course, I admittedly am not following this discussion because the clown to which you are speaking is just unworthy of the time.
