The debate on this thread at least proves the point that there is disagreement about how true this movie is to the gospels. You havent seen the movie either yet, you know so you are pre-judging just as abe foxman is.
I plan to see it. Personally, to me the killing of jesus occurred in a country ruled by the romans where jewish priests were somehow complicit with their rulers. By the way, there are no jewish priests anymore so that i assume most jews had no use for these guys either. Both the romans and the jewish priests were certainly threatened by jesus(politically and religously) whether he was the messiah or not. So they took care of him by putting out a hit on him. I feel no complicity in this act. And i certainly regret it because Jesus was a good guy and very much a jew himself. Anyway thats what the priest said at the wedding today. Mike

"You are only antagonizing people who bore you no ill will to begin with. Why throw stones at them? It is counter-productive. It is the boy that cried wolf."

Mel Gibson's father is a racist and mel, i believe, does not accept the Pope John 23 changes amd belongs to a group in the catholic church that wants to reverse that. Not sure about that however. I sort of remember hearing that. If true that would go to motive as the lawyers would say. mike
