"Marriage is a contract that is defined legally." Every single marriage I have been to has been presided over by a member of the clergy. Yes, marriage carries with it a cornucopia of legal consequences, but to call it merely a legal relationship is to ignore that historically it has been viewed as a relationship between the persons being married and God, as well as a relationship between the persons being married and the state.

I don't think that anyone would disagree with you about heterosexual marriage. It needs no defense. It needs no defense because, unlike homosexual “marriage,” it is us. Mom and Dad are biologically married in you. This fact alone demonstrates the profound difference between homosexual marriage and true marriage. They are not to be held equally. Indeed homosexual marriage does not exist and cannot exist. But who cares if homosexuals wish to marry? Marriage is a contract that is defined legally. Ownership and heirs are set by law. Spousal benefits are often defined in terms of marriage. I sincerely do not care if they wish to marry. I only care about being forced by law to recognize it in any way. It has no part of me (or you or any other human) at all and so I ought not be forced to support it. So what difference is it to you or anyone else that two people of the same sex wish to enter into that kind of contract. They may enter into any sort of contract they wish, as long as I am not forced to have a thing, not even the slightest thing, to do with it. I believe that same sex partnerships can already do the equivalent with a contract drawn by their attorney. Save perhaps for any public or private spousal benefits that might be due from a government or private employer. That last sentence is more than enough to cause a problem. I do not wish to be forced to acknowledge and support what is patently non-human. The number of people wishing to enter same sex marriage must be a small number anyway. Doesn’t matter. There aren't that many gay people, and those that are gay are that way because god made them that way. Who in their right mind would chose a lifestyle of persecution if it were not a truly basic desire to be with one of the same sex? So sorry, but this abortion-loving, pro-homosexual god of yours obviously has no shame and is therefore no god I can possibly respect. In fact, this god does not exist for me at all. Here in nature, there is just no evidence for anything that you say. What you are saying here is that homosexuals cannot control themselves, that they are compelled to act a certain way. Even if that were true (which it is not) autistic people have no control over their autism, but this is no reason to claim autism is not a defect. Most gay people have no desire for a person of the opposite sex. It's who they are. The way that god made them. Hmmm. I think this god is an utter abomination. Yes. Quite an utter abomination, hardly anything I can respect. In fact, I am persuaded he is false, or, more likely, the devil. We all have many attributes, among them is sexual desire. Just as all people are not white or black or blond or brunette, not all people will be of the same sexual orientation. Sloppy. Skin color, hair color, etc., are all innate attributes clearly attached to genetics. Moreover, no partition exists between them. It is entirely possible for a blond person to join to a brunette, to a black, to a white. This proves that the differences are superficial, that fundamentally, all are One as long as they join in true natural marriage – heterosexually. Lastly, these traits are all passive, doing nothing in and of themselves. Since they do nothing, they are not subject to judgment as either human or nonhuman. Contrariwise, sexual orientation from our perspective necessarily is expressed via behavior. It has no known genetic component and is not passive. It is therefore subject to judgment. When it takes a homosexual form, it clearly is partitioned from all humanity, since no human can join homosexuality with any other to create humans who biologically as defined as homosexuals. Sometimes when the genetic dice are rolled you come up with a male, a female and on occasion a hermaphordite. And then all things in between are possible. Well, hermaphrodites are simply human defects who posses both organs. Since no human in existence has ever been genetically defined as anything other than M+F, then if hermaphrodites cannot contribute genetic information in this scheme, the result of their union will necessarily be nonhuman. What child wants to be born with spinabifida, or a cleft palate, or mongoloid, or downs, or to be different in their sexual orientation? Not one. It's clearly out of their control. No one is trying to force me into thinking this crap is normal. We all agree that these things are defects. Would you ridicule someone born out of the norm, simply because they aren't just like you? Apparently so. If you were trying to force this stuff on me as "normal", as you do with homosexuality, then yes – I would certainly ridicule it because to me you would be acting ridiculous. But if we could agree with the fact they are all defects, then the issue becomes one of how best to handle them in society such that normal people are not forced to give up rights, but encouraged toward understanding. Leftists do not do this. It is really a shame how the homosexuals used lies and politics (i.e. modern science) to control the APA into declaring homosexuality not a sickness. Everyone knows it is a mental illness. But leftists exploit lies and politics. They take the law in hand, commandeer the courts and force their abominations on everyone. It is for this reason that the nation is fractured. You folks do not work together as countrymen. You only care for yourselves. It is now my hope that we will get a vote on an Amendment. Up or down. It is my considered opinion that I can hope for no more than this. gotta go...
