Lizzie - first - please go back and read my posts. As for the jobs moving - please go back and check the dates for the signing of NAFTA and GATT. Now personally, I think those were both good things. However, they are the near term cause for the problem of jobs moving out of the US. Do you remember the great debate Algore had with Ross Perot? The real impact of NAFTA and GATT has been the elimination of inflation - thus allowing the fed to pump a bunch of money into the system. This is what lead to the Clinton bubble economy and similarly it is what is allowing Greenspan to try to reflate the burst bubble and the 9/11 economic disaster. Just watch this summer how the US transforms while the rest of the world stagnates. The option is to be like Europe - something we cannot be while we have massive illegal immigration and a whole lot of people looking to get on the economic ladder. In stagnant no growth economies, like Europe, there is no economic ladder. Incidentally, this is the Edwards for President thread - I am still open to the idea of him as president. I do know for sure he would be much more difficult to beat than Kerry. Bob
