Pre-emptive invasions of countries is not the best way to solve the terror problem IMHO. Through blood and persistence it may make some headway, but it ignores some of the fundamental reasons for terror.

Terror is best combated through a combination of strength, cooperation, improving conditions for the poor which is the reservoir tapped by the terrorists, working with nations such as Palestine and Israel for peace and making changes in the way we do business with terrorist supporting countries such as Saudi Arabia.

The action in Iraq had nothing to do with the war on terror. The result of the action has been to spur on many terror groups. Our concern has expanded from worrying about Al Qaeda, which we should have finished the job on long time ago, to thousands of new Islamist terror groups.

I disagree with the methods and means of this administration in it's prosecution of the war on terror. That said, now that we have pushed our way in, it's only right to leave the country with a chance for self rule. I believe that we could have had more success in the middle east if we would have built a coalition of support, not only in Europe but in the middle east as well.

Bush invaded Iraq for many reasons, least of which was the war on terror. I disagree with his plan, which is the same plan that has been fomented by the PNAC, prior to September 11.
